NOTE: Do not worry if you can only attend one course. It will provide an overview of what to expect when doing documentary filmmaking


Documentary films have to do with telling factual stories about certain topics or events that are either happening now or in the past. Join us in this hands-on workshop and we will walk you through all the production steps in creating an actual documentary movie, including introducing you to digital technology and techniques that are being used to create one that is currently in development at SustainableScoop; from research, to interviews and B-Roll footage, and other important elements in documentary filmmaking.

How did filmmaking get started? What was it like to create moving pictures before cinema and digital technology? Join us for our hands on workshop and travel back in time with THE ORIGIN OF FILM. Here you will be able to see and experience, through fun activities and crafts, the early history of film, animation, and learn some present-day film effects using the Adobe Creative Suite.

Information for Individuals and Families

  • We have a maximum capacity of up to three students for each of these courses
  • We support individuals of all ages and backgrounds for our program. 
  • Our age limit is 15-25 years
  • People with autism and other disabilites are proritized, but others are also accepted.
  • We are open to serving students with non-verbal and social challenges, and complex sociAl behaviors. However, if a student requires one-on-one supervision, challenges with elopement, physical outbursts, or hygene assistence, they will be required to bring their own aid. The aid will be allowed to come free of charge but will still be required to fill out consent forms
